Applied names product exec

January 9, 2004 – Applied Materials, Santa Clara, CA, has appointed Mark Pinto as senior VP of its new business and new products group, where he will oversee the company’s product roadmap development as well as reviewing new business opportunities.

Pinto was most recently VP of digital and analog IC products for network infrastructure applications at Agere Systems, and served as that company’s CTO when it was spun off from Lucent Technologies.
