Equipment alliance becomes incorporated

January 16, 2004 – CapOneSource, a shared services alliance of 26 semiconductor equipment companies, has been incorporated as a limited liability company. The distinction improves the group’s ability to negotiate with some service providers that extend volume purchasing deals only to incorporated entities.

CapOneSource was formed in July 2002 by Lam Research, Credence, Mattson, and Varian to aggregate buying power for companies with annual revenues of more than $100 million. It currently is affiliated with 17 service providers.
