Korean CVD firm sues US rival

January 27, 2004 – Joosung Engineering Inc., a Korea-based manufacturer of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) systems, has filed a complaint with Taiwan’s corporate regular against AKT Inc. alleging violation of fair trade laws, according to the Korea Herald.

Joosung claims AKT intentionally spread rumors that Joosung copied AKT’s plasma-enhanced CVD technology for LCD panels. Joosung reported earnings of $3.3 million on sales of $55 million in 2003.
