NEC wants slice of smart chip pie

January 26, 2004 – NEC Corp. plans to expand its smart IC tag business globally this spring, putting it in competition with rivals Hitachi and IBM, according to Dow Jones. The company is targeting 200 billion yen in sales by 2010, in addition to selling related software and integration services.
