Optiva names Peter Hopper CEO

Jan. 27, 2004 — Optiva Inc. (News, Web), a South San Francisco, Calif., provider of nanomaterials for optical applications, named Peter Hopper as chief executive officer.

Hopper was previously chief executive of Philips Mobile Display Systems in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for sales of mobile displays to the telecom, personal digital assistant and automotive markets. He was with Philips for 28 years.

Optiva Chairman Alan Marty said in a prepared statement that Hopper’s experience in developing multichannel distribution and direct sales would help Optiva shape its strategic direction.
