PSI shifts production to China

January 15, 2004 – PSI Technologies, a Philippine-based chip testing and packaging firm, plans to move up to half of its production to mainland China, according to local news reports quoting chairman and CEO Arthur Young.

The move would set up a, 4000 sq. ft. facility in China’s Chengdu province and employ 1500 workers, with the $20 million initial phase of the project to be finished in early 2005.

PSI supplies assembly and test services for companies including Infineon and Texas Instruments.
