SiGen, Soitec litigation settled

January 27, 2004 – A US Court of Appeals has denied a petition to reverse a jury’s decision that invalidated part of a patent for Soitec’s “Smart-Cut” technology.

Soitec and Silicon Genesis Corp. (SiGen), San Jose, CA, have been in court since 1999 debating whether SiGen’s NanoCleave processes infringed upon Soitec’s technology. Soitec could still request a review by the US Supreme Court.
