Feb. 6, 2004 — The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has teamed up with Magma Design Automation Inc. (Nasdaq: LAVA, Web) to create a nanoscale integrated circuit design lab in China, according to a news release.
The lab seeks to develop and provide IC design technology for nanometer technologies based on Santa Clara, Calif.-based Magma’s design tools. The work will be used in CAS’ education programs, research projects and commercial applications — all aimed at boosting the availability of advanced IC design capabilities in China, the release said.
Magma and CAS also plan to create an education program for graduate students and explore nanodesign projects with international organizations.
