EU signs off on AMD funds

February 3, 2004 – The European Union has approved 544 million euros in German government aid to help AMD build its new 300mm facility in Dresden, according to Dow Jones. The German federal government and the state of Saxony will shoulder 23% of the facility’s cost, expected to be around 2.4 billion euros.
