NASA grants ISSYS some MEMS money

Feb. 13, 2004 — Integrated Sensing Systems Inc. (ISSYS) (Profile, News, Web) received a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract from NASA to continue its work on MEMS sensors for medical and space applications.

The $600,000 grant announced Thursday follows an earlier SBIR contract and incorporates elements from two others. The grant will help the Ypsilanti, Mich.-based firm continue to develop implantable pressure and flow sensors for tailored treatment of chronic diseases, such as congestive heart failure and hydrocephalus, officials said.
