ASMI acquires NuTool

March 2, 2004 – Dutch firm ASM International NV has agreed to acquire NuTool, Milpitas, CA, a developer of planar copper deposition technology.

Under the stock-swap deal, estimated at between 38-57 million euros (based on ASMI’s share price), ASMI will acquire the remaining shares it does not already own in NuTool.

The impact on ASMI’s cash position in 2004 will be less than 10 million euros, according to CEO Arthur Del Prado.
