Hynix sees rosy future

March 29, 2004 – Hynix CEO Eui Jei Woo said that the chipmakers’ financial performance will continue to improve due to increased demand for memory chips, which will also stiffen competition, according to a Dow Jones story.

Speaking at the company’s shareholder meeting, Woo predicted mass production of 300mm wafers and 0.11-micron process technology will be in “full force” by 2H04, but did not elaborate on the company’s plans for building its own 300mm facility, a possibility fueled by the firm’s ongoing investigation into a potential chip plant in China to be ready by 2H05.
