Intel buys startup?

March 26, 2004 – Intel Corp. reportedly has acquired Israeli fabless semiconductor startup Envara, Ra’anana, Israel, for $40-$60 million, according to Israeli news service TheMarker.com. Neither company would confirm the transaction.

Founded in 2000, Envara develops and markets multimode, multiband chipsets for wireless LANs; to date, the company has raised about $40 million from various investors and VC firms.
