Intel, Intergraph settle suit

March 31, 2004 – Intel Corp. reportedly will pay $225 million to settle litigation with Intergraph concerning alleged patent infringement by Intel’s Itanium chips on Intergraph’s Clipper technology. The suit was originally filed in 2001, and later expanded to include several PC makers; terms of the settlement grant Dell a license, but HP and Gateway remain as defendants in the litigation.
