PSC shooting for top capacity

March 26, 2004 – Taiwan’s PowerChip Semiconductor Corp. (PSC) may reach the world’s largest 12-in. wafer capacity with its plans to boost fab output from 35,000 wafers/month to 45,000 by the end of this year.

Taiwan investors estimate that the chipmaker will earn more than $378.7 million this year, the highest record in 10 years, according to the Taiwan Economic News.

PSC executives recently claimed that the 12-in. fab would produce 23,000 wafers throughout March and raise output to 30,000 wafers by May.
