Samsung launches “Nano e-HEPA” filtration system

MARCH 12–TOKYO–Samsung Electronics has launched its new Nano e-HEPA (for electric High Efficiency Particulate Arrest) filtration system-equipped air purifiers, which not only eliminate undesirable odors, but also help protect people from numerous indoor health threats.

Samsung’s newly launched air purifier models, including the AC401B, AC402A and AC340B, feature a 12-stage air purification system that consistently offers cleaner, healthier air.

Samsung Electronics is among the first to apply nano-silver technology to air purification systems. A metal dust filter coated with silver particles just 8 nanometers large (less than 0.1 micron) was proven to kill 99.7% of influenza viruses in tests conducted by the Kitasato research center of environmental sciences in Japan. The bacterial control is even further enhanced by the use of an ultraviolet (UV) lamp.

Another feature of the Samsung Nano e-HEPA system is the unrivalled ability to remove odors (up to 98%). A functional filter, developed with nano-technology, eliminates all noxious volatile organic compound (VOCs) fumes, which come from paint, adhesives and varnishes.
