AMD adding R&D in India

April 22, 2004 – AMD plans to open an engineering design center in Bangalore, India, by July of this year, focusing on chip designs to be used in the region and “other high-growth markets.”

The company said it would invest $5 million over the next three years to establish the AMD India Engineering Center and ramp up operations. The 38,000 sq. ft. facility will employ 40 workers by the end of this year, and up to 120 by the end of 2005.
