AMD settles patent suit

April 12, 2004 – AMD has settled a patent infringement suit brought against it by Intergraph, a week after rival Intel came to similar terms. AMD will pay $10 million, plus 2% of its chip sales from 2005-2007, for a license of Intergraph’s “Clipper” microprocessor patents. The payments are capped at $5 million/year, and a total of $25 million.
