Applied NanoWorks launches zinc oxide powders

April 9, 2004 — Applied NanoWorks Inc. has launched zinc oxide nanopowders that aims to improve the performance and durability of suntan lotions, plastics, resins and paints, according to a news release.

PinnacleAF Zinc Oxide, which has particle sizes 80 percent smaller than existing commercial powders, increases the amount of ultraviolet sunlight that is absorbed. It also increases the particle surface area, which boosts performance and efficiency in applications like adhesives and antibacterial formulas, the release said.
