April 5, 2004 – Infineon Technologies AG plans to shift capacity away from its DRAM operations in order to focus on production of logic chips, according to Dow Jones.

The move is in response to increased demand for logic, as well as a desire to exit the commodity memory business, according to a company spokesperson, who added that published reports predicting a 50% reduction in Infineon’s memory chip output in April “do not correspond to reality.”
