IntelliSense launches piezo MEMS modeling tool

April 1, 2004 – IntelliSense Software Corp. has launched tools for modeling piezoresistive and piezoelectric MEMS devices that could be used for energy and communications, according to a news release.

PiezoMEMS, designed for the IntelliSuite package, extends the software’s capability to perform a full suite of electromechanical and high-frequency electromagnetic analyses of piezo devices. IntelliSense said it’s the first tool of its kind for piezo-based modeling.

Piezoelectric and piezoresistive devices generate an electrical charge or a resistance alteration in response to stress.
