RF Micro to acquire Silicon Wave

April 26, 2004 – RF Micro Devices, a North Carolina cellular-phone chipmaker with a stake in Silicon Wave, a San Diego-based company specializing in Bluetooth technology, has said that it will pay about $10.8 million for the rest of the privately held company. RF Micro plans to make additional payments to Silicon Wave shareholders if “certain financial benchmarks are reached,” according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. The potential value of the deal was not disclosed.
