Simpler Networks raises $15.5 million

May 13, 2004 — Simpler Networks Inc., a Montreal manufacturer of telecommunications equipment, announced it has received $15.5 million in Series A financing.

Highland Capital Partners and Kodiak Venture Partners co-led the round. BCE Capital, Solidarity Fund QFL and Innovatech Montreal also participated.

The company intends to use the funding for product development and to begin trial deployments by early 2005. Simpler Networks uses MEMS-based relays in its telecom systems.

Jean-Luc Abaziou of Highland Capital Partners and Dave Furneaux of Kodiak Venture Partners joined the Simpler Networks board of directors.
