FEI docks at Dutch NanoPort

June 28, 2004 – FEI Co. (Nasdaq: FEIC, Profile, News, Web) has opened a nanoscale product and applications center at its facilities in the Netherlands.

Eindhoven-based NanoPort has been designed to provide a center where users can develop applications and assess technology before buying it. The center also seeks to bring together the expertise of outside scientists and FEI developers for joint research and development projects.

The Hillsboro, Ore.-based nanotechnology toolmaker said NanoPort is so named because it wants the facility to be a portal to nanoscale advancement and a base for European scientists working in areas such as semiconductors, biotechnology, materials and data storage.
