New ADI dual-axis sensor cause for alarm

June 9, 2004 – Analog Devices Inc. has launched a new accelerometer for automobile security systems.

The ADXL213 model, which is incorporated into an alarm system, is designed to detect very small tilt angles and the rate at which these angles change whenever an attempt is made to tow or jack up the vehicle.

The dual-axis sensor can also be used in motion detectors, braking systems, physiological monitoring or stability compensation, according to a news release.
