Small World Expo canceled

July 7, 2004 — Small World Expo, a trade show planned for Feb. 24-26, 2005 in Las Vegas, has been canceled, according to Tim Bourquin, one of the event’s organizers.

“We didn’t get the traction that we’d hoped for,” said Bourquin, a co-founder of Next On Media, which was organizing the event. He said people who had already signed up for the event have been refunded their money.

Bourquin said the idea was to build a trade show with about 2,500 attendees that would be more like a major industry trade show than an academic conference. “We did everything right,” he said. “We were just too early.”
