AMD confirms: we’re shipping 90nm chips

August 18, 2004 – Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Sunnyvale, CA, said it has begun shipping its low-power 90nm mobile Athlon64 notebook processors for revenue, with systems built on the chips expected “in the coming months.”

“We promised 90nm revenue shipments in the third quarter, and we’re delivering on that promise,” said Dirk Meyer, EVP of AMD’s computation products group. Athlon64 processors for desktop systems will ship later in 3Q, followed by 90nm Opteron processors “later this year,” and dual-core processors in 2Q05.
