National Semi sells imaging business to Kodak

August 24, 2004 – National Semiconductor Corp., Santa Clara, CA, has sold its imaging business to Eastman Kodak Co. for an undisclosed amount. The assets, including equipment, IP, and about 50 employees, will become part of Kodak’s Image Sensor Solutions business.

With the deal, National Semi will focus on core analog capabilities, while Kodak gains CMOS image sensor expertise. The transaction does not include any of National Semi’s ownership interests or IP related to Foveon Inc., from which it licensed the Foven X3 direct image sensor technology.
