Aug. 27, 2004 – Punk, Ziegel & Co., a New York-based investment bank, added four companies to its nanotechnology index  in its semi-annual revision.

The additional companies are Immunicon Corp., Kopin Corp., Lumera Corp. and Ultratech Inc.

Immunicon and Lumera both went public after the Punk, Ziegel index was created in March. Kopin was added in response to the growing importance of nanotech for semiconductor, solid state lighting and display technologies, according to JoAnne Feeney, an analyst at Punk, Ziegel.

Ultratech, she said, has “a whole suite now of nanotech tools designed to facilitate research and development at the nanoscale.”
