Glimmerglass releases new fiber management system

Oct. 13, 2004 – Glimmerglass Networks Inc., a Hayward, Calif.-based microphotonics firm, has launched a new MEMS-based server for managing and monitoring fiber optic connections, according to a news release.

System 100, a 16-by-16-port fiber switch, can instantly reconfigure fiber connections between test equipment and devices under test at the click of a mouse or touch of a button. The new system is designed to boost speed and efficiency for test engineering teams and manufacturing quality control managers.

System 100 features the same tool set, user interface and functionality as the larger Glimmerglass System 300. The company said in the release that the new model provides a smaller, more affordable package to customers in smaller facilities.
