Global Chip Sales Rise Slightly in September to $18.4 Billion

Worldwide microchip sales for the third quarter of 2004 amounted to $55.2 billion, an increase of 3.2% from the second quarter when sales were $53.5 billion and an increase of 27.4% from the third quarter of 2003. Worldwide microchip sales for the first nine months of 2004 reached $157.6 billion, an increase of 33.2% from the comparable period of 2003.
