National Semiconductor Reports 18% Decline in Sales as Fab Utilization Falls

National posted a GAAP profit of $80 million, or $0.21 per share, for the second quarter of fiscal 2005, which ended November 28. National’s second quarter 2005 results included $8.8 million in a special gain from the sale of assets and a $4.2 million benefit from the resolution of a tax matter.

(December 13, 2004) Chandler, Ariz. & San Francisco, Calif. &#8212 Amkor Technology and PSi Technologies Holdings Inc. have signed a broad, multi-year patent license agreement that allows PSi to practice under Amkor’s portfolio of micro-lead-frame patents, granting Amkor access to the intellectual property being developed by PSi related to its PowerQFN technology.
