Tegal moves European headquarters to Dresden

Dec. 23, 2004 — Tegal Corp., a designer and manufacturer of plasma etch and deposition systems used in the production of integrated circuits and nanotechnology devices, announced it moved its European headquarters to Thiendorf, near Dresden, from Munich, Germany.

All European sales, service and support will be directed out of the new location. In addition, Tegal intends to expand its infrastructure there to support some assembly and test operations.

The company’s president, Michael Parodi, said in a prepared statement that the move will allow the company to support manufacturers located in the area. He also said that local technical resources, the availability of a high quality labor pool, and investment incentives made it an attractive location.

Infineon, AMD and DuPont Photronics, among others, are located in the area in addition to three universities of technology and five of applied sciences.
