(January 19, 2005) Pittsburgh, Pa. — The MEMS Industry Group (MIG) announces that it has received funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to continue its MEMS Cost Assessment Tool (MEMS CAT) project. SEMATECH and its subsidiary, the International SEMATECH Manufacturing Initiative (ISMI), have been chosen to modify their existing Cost Resource Model software for MIG. SEMATECH and ISMI have knowledge in building cost models of processes for the semiconductor industry, and MIG relies on their experience to provide the CAT for the MEMS industry.
