PI announces new nanopositioning stage

Jan. 6, 2005 — Physik Instrumente LP, an Auburn, Mass., developer of nanometer-level motion control products, piezo ceramics and nanoactuators, announced the availability of its new P-541 series nanopositioning scanning stages.

The stages are designed to provide fast multiaxis motion to 120x120x120 micrometers with a resolution down to 0.1 nanometer. A guiding system is intended to provide friction free motion with nanometer precision trajectory control.

Intended applications include scanning microscopy and nanomanipulation, as well as biotech, nanoimprint, semiconductor and data storage test equipment work. The company says the P-541 systems are designed for easy integration with a low profile package.
