Plastic Logic raises $8 million

Jan. 26, 2005 — Plastic Logic, a Cambridge, UK-based developer of plastic electronics technology, announced an $8 million first closing of an ongoing round of funding. New investors include Siemens Venture Capital GmbH and Nanotech Partners, a nanotechnology fund established principally by Mitsubishi Corp.

The funds are to enable further expansion. Plastic Logic’s technology is intended to enable new product concepts in applications such as displays and sensors. It is currently expanding its existing mini-fab facility and installing a 350mm x 350mm prototype line. It will be used in conjunction with device makers to demonstrate product prototypes.
