SEMI expands nano emphasis, names nano director

Jan. 28, 2005 — SEMI, the San Jose, Calif.-based global tech industry association, announced that Lubab Sheet has been named senior director of nanotechnology and will spearhead expanded efforts to clarify and exploit new technology and market opportunities for the organization’s global membership.

Together with the launch of a new market study, executive conference and standards development activities, the newly-created position confirms the emphasis SEMI is now placing on nanotechnology-related information, public policy, services and events.

SEMI serves companies that develop and provide manufacturing technology, materials and services to make semiconductors, flat panel displays, micro-electromechanical systems and related microelectronics.

Sheet reports to Paul Davis, SEMI executive vice president. Previously, she served as the research development director at SEMI. Prior to her employment with SEMI, she was the vice president of content and co-founder of SemiSales.
