TRONIC’S to open U.S. MEMS office

Jan. 26, 2005 — TRONIC’S Microsystems, a Crolles, France-based manufacturer of MEMS-based custom components, announced it has opened a North American office. The company has named Ariel Cao to serve as North American director of business development.

TRONIC’S says establishing a U.S. presence is part of its strategy to work alongside customers from the design stage onward. “We have identified some key U.S. customer’s needs for whom TRONIC’S has a compelling solution for medium volume target production,” said CEO Peter Pfluger in a prepared statement.

Cao is president of San Francisco-based Cabrillo Technology International, a consulting firm. He was previously general manager and director of business development for PHS MEMS’ United States operations.
