CNI announces double wall nanotubes

Feb. 2, 2005 — Carbon Nanotechnologies Inc. (CNI), a Houston provider of carbon nanotubes, announced it has expanded its pilot plant capability to provide double wall carbon nanotubes.

The technology the company uses to produce its double wall carbon nanotubes is part of the intellectual property developed by Rice University’s Richard Smalley and licensed exclusively to CNI by Rice in 2001. The company says it can now provide double wall carbon nanotubes in gram to multiple kilogram quantities.

CNI began supplying single-wall carbon nanotubes on a developmental basis in 2000 when the company was formed and has expanded that capability in subsequent years. The company says it has worked with more than 500 customers.
