Sematech names Alex Oscilowski vice president of strategy

Feb. 24, 2005 — Semiconductor veteran Alex Oscilowski has joined Sematech, the consortium for the chip industry, as vice president of strategy.

In his new role, Oscilowski will be responsible for helping formulate and implement Sematech’s strategic direction, reporting directly to President and CEO Mike Polcari. He will assist Polcari in coordinating the overall business strategy for the Sematech consortium and its subsidiaries.

Oscilowski most recently served as president and CEO of DFT Microsystems in Norristown, Penn., a company focused on improving performance and reducing costs of high-speed digital and analog/mixed signal testing for leading-edge semiconductors.

He also served as president and senior vice president at Kulicke & Soffa Industries, managing the well-known supplier’s worldwide business and operations. That berth was preceded by work at Sematech from 1993 to 1999, where he served as chief operating officer.
