Sales revenue for the full year 2004 were NT$35.009 billion ($1.046 billion U.S.), up 27.80% compared to the same period of 2003. Full year net income was NT$4.282 billion ($128 million U.S.), compared with a net income of NT$2.839 billion for 2003.
(February 1, 2005) San Jose, Calif. — Worldwide sales of semiconductors reached a record $213 billion in 2004, a year-on-year increase of 28% from the $166.4 billion recorded in 2003, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reports. Chip sales declined in December by 3.5% sequentially to $18.4 billion from the $19.0 billion reported for November, in line with historical seasonality. December sales were 14.6% higher than in December 2003. Fourth-quarter sales, at $55.1 billion, declined by 0.8% from the immediate prior-quarter sales of $55.5 billion.
