National Seeks Buyer for Singapore Assembly/Test Facility

“Although National’s Singapore facility is a world-class operation with a highly skilled workforce, it is geared more towards complex, high-pin count [digital] products,” says Brian L. Halla, chairman, president, and CEO of NSC. “We are seeking a buyer for the facility because National is moving to a product portfolio that doesn’t require these high-pin count packages.”

(March 11, 2005) Dublin, Ireland &#8212 Research and Markets announces the release of their new report, “Packaging and Assembly Services for MST/MEMS &#8212 Worldwide”, to their current offering. The infrastructure for MST/MEMS development and production is growing fast&#8212many foundries and design houses have been established over the past few years which cover most, if not all of the required technologies for commercializing nano- and micro-technology. Packaging, however, still remains at the end of the design cycle, often delaying or preventing industrialization and commercialization.
