Mar. 9, 2005 — Polychromix Inc., a Wilmington, Mass., developer of MEMS-based optical communications products, announced yesterday it was demonstrating its P-DCO family of dynamic gain equalizers and wavelength blockers and its P-DCC product line of multi-port wavelength selective switches at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition and the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference in Anaheim, Calif., this week.
The company says its wavelength switch products offer advanced, remote configuration of optical networks while allowing carriers to reduce wavelength provisioning and management time from months to minutes, and increase revenue by providing advanced wavelength services to end-customers. As a result, Polychromix says, the products enable carriers to extract additional profit from their existing infrastructure while seamlessly migrating to future networks.
