Polychromix unveils MEMS-based spectrometer

Mar. 1, 2005 — Polychromix Inc., a developer of advanced wavelength management solutions for optical systems, yesterday announced the launch of its Near Infrared Digital Transform Spectrometer (DTS) product family. Based on a MEMS spatial light modulator, the devices are designed to be compact, low cost chemical analysis systems.

They are currently targeted at general purpose spectroscopy applications but the company says numerous customer trials are underway to adapt the device to industry-specific applications. The DTS product family currently consists of three spectrometer versions, the DTS-1700 and DTS-2500 models, as well as the DTS-NB high resolution version for specific narrowband applications within the near infrared spectrum.
