Mar. 14, 2005 — SolidWorks Corp., a Concord, Mass., developer of design software, announced that the Oregon State University College of Engineering has purchased 200 licenses of its SolidWorks Education Edition software.

The University’s goal is to help engineering students more quickly master the design engineering tools they will use in their careers. The software will be used in engineering graphics and 3D modeling courses as well as in manufacturing, mechanical, and nuclear engineering coursework. The university-affiliated Oregon Nanosciences and Microtechnologies Institute (ONAMI) will also use SolidWorks and COSMOS software in its mesoscale device fabrication research.
