(April 14, 2005) San Jose, Calif. — Tessera Technologies has appointed Liam Goudge as senior VP of the Emerging Markets and Technologies Group—newly created within Tessera to expand the company’s portfolio into new areas of electronics miniaturization. Goudge will report to Bruce McWilliams, chairman and CEO of Tessera.
(April 15, 2005) San Jose, Calif. — Moore’s Law could stay effective for another 15 to 20 years by overcoming several challenging obstacles, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA). April 19th marks the 40th anniversary of chip-industry pioneer Gordon Moore’s observation that the number of components on a silicon chip was doubling just about every year. Since then, Moore’s Law has been the most important competitive benchmark for the industry.
