Filtration company reports success using nanoparticles

May 20, 2005 — Emergency Filtration Products Inc. (OTCBB: EMFP) reported today that nanoparticles developed for filtration products performed effectively in tests against five different pathogens or contaminants. One type of nanoparticle in particular demonstrated highly significant kill rates, the company claimed.

The work is being done for the U.S. military and is funded through a technology commercialization grant. The company, which is based in Henderson, Nev., predicts its filter media will be in use by the military in late 2005, pending the successful outcome of final testing.
