Infineon opens new Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore

May 13, 2005 – Infineon Technologies Asia Pte Ltd. announced it opened its Asia Pacific headquarters building at Kallang Sector yesterday. The two 10-story towers house Infineon’s regional headquarters functions in the Asia Pacific, including production, logistics, sales and marketing and R&D.

Besides having an IC design center, Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific is also the global testing hub for its logic IC products. Fronting the Pan Island Expressway in the Kallang Sector, the headquarters occupies a net floor area of 21,151 sq m situated on a land area of 10,978 sq m.

The opening ceremony was inaugurated by the guest of honor, Lim Hng Kiang, Minister of Trade and Industry for Singapore, in the presence of Wolfgang Ziebart, CEO of Infineon Technologies AG.

Infineon in Singapore has grown and expanded in tandem with the local economy over the last 35 years, with a total staff of ~2350 in Singapore. Infineon has invested a total of one billion Singapore dollars since its establishment.

“The opening of the new Asia Pacific headquarters building marks a significant milestone for Infineon,” said Ziebart. “Currently, Asia Pacific contributes over one-third of Infineon’s revenue.”
