Lab-on-a-chip company adds PCAST member to its board

May 20, 2005 — LabNow Inc., a lab-on-a-chip technology company based in Austin, Texas, appointed Steve Papermaster to its board of directors as an independent director, LabNow announced Thursday. Papermaster is chairman of Powershift Ventures L.P and is as a member of the President’s Council of Advisors in Science and Technology. His areas of focus include nanotechnology, innovation ecosystems and energy.

LabNow licensed platform lab-on-a-chip sensor technology from the University of Texas at Austin that it claims has the capability to automate complex fluid analysis quickly, accurately and at lower cost than current methods. The microfluidics sensor technology has uses in medical, homeland security, environmental chemistry and process engineering applications.
