Crossbow unveils uNAV sensor pack

June 7, 2005 — Crossbow Technology Inc., a San Jose, Calif., provider of inertial systems, released its uNAV, a low cost, miniature air/ground vehicle sensor package.

The uNAV is a calibrated digital sensor system and servo control board targeted at miniature ground and airborne vehicles. Typical applications include navigation and control in robotics and radio control aircraft.

The 9-axis sensor suite includes accelerometers, angular rate sensors and magnetometers. It also combines altitude and airspeed sensors for airborne control and a GPS receiver for navigation and path planning.

“We are excited about the launch of the uNAV sensor system,” said Mike Horton, president and CEO of Crossbow Technology, in a prepared statement. “It will pave the way for the use of MEMS sensors in small sized ground and airborne robotics systems.”
